Gentle Nuts Only
Backstory
After working for 18 mths at And Now For Something Completely Different veggie restaurant/venue in Chatswood, Sydney in 1979 the owner Ken, an ex-film-editor, told me privately that he wanted to produce a movie about the restaurant called Gentle Nuts Only - the tagline he put on the menus. So wrote the theme song for him. One of my few early songs written in 1977 after just learning to play guitar. This Suno track was created from that original 1977 demo. The movie is still a good idea 50 years later!
Lyrics
(Hi folks... and now for something completely different?!) It's for gentle nuts only Some will say it's very strange You might find out quite unknowingly Or just try it for a change It's for gentle nuts only If you want a place to go If you're down or feeling lonely You'll have a good time here I know 'Cause when you walk upstairs and you step inside You forget your cares and you don't get tired Come on have a meal and watch the show But it's no big deal if you want to know What's it all about? Where am I? How do I get out? It's for gentle nuts only I think you'll get it big surprise It is really very homely And it may open up your eyes It's for gentle nuts only No I won't say any more Unless you like things cheap and phoney Well then we'll see you at our door. 'Cause when you walk upstairs and you step inside You forget your cares and you don't get tired Come on have a meal and watch the show But it's no big deal if you want to know What's it all about? Where am I? How do I get out? It's for gentle nuts only Some will say it's very strange ("It's very strange!") You might find out quite unknowingly Or just try it for a change It's for gentle nuts only If you want a place to go If you're down or feeling lonely You'll have a good time here I know 'Cause when you walk upstairs and you step inside You forget your cares and you don't get tired Come on have a meal and watch the show But it's no big deal if you want to know What's it all about? Where am I? How do I get out? (How do I get out?) (How do I get out?) (How do I get out?) (Well... that IS different!)
