Abyss
Backstory
I was raised in the 60s with spaceflight- watching the moon landing - shows like Lost In Space - My Favourite Martian and a fascination with 2001: A Space Odyssey and just about every other space movie – so it’s inevitable that I’d write songs about space. I thought we would've had a base on the moon (see Moonbase-One) and be colonising Mars by now. I always wondered about waking up from hibernation cruising into a new galaxy. I can dream can’t I? Suno certainly helps those dreams come true – in music anyway!

There is a place we will be going And it’s out into space our rockets glowing Down behind us, they won’t blind us. No hidden force to drag you down It’s just a matter of course, leaving the ground Far below us, they won’t know us. Heading for a nearby constellation Guided by electric computation. Across the abyss we sleep in silence Timeless bodies of bliss held in suspense Of what we’ll find there, will they have minds there. Awake to a dream warmed by a new sun That has never been seen before by anyone We’ll grow there the seeds we sow there. Living in a nearby constellation Guided by our own imagination. What are we waiting for When there’s so much to explore???? They won't know us....
