Music For Hairdressers
Backstory
In the early 80s while promoting my pop songs (see Pop Song) to record companies I did the whole hair colouring & style thing. My partner & I went to a super cool salon in Sydney city run by two lovely gay guys (Bryan?) who were always playing loud frenetic dance music during the treatment. I remember getting home & showering the chemicals out swaying from side to side with the rhythm still in my head & spontaneously writing the song. A demo was recorded & used to generate this Suno version.
Lyrics
Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, come on baby do your hair. Music for hairdressers Music for hairdress-sus. Two shampoos and rinse Conditioner, and rinse again. Take a seat, would you like some tea Or a magazine? Oh he'll be with you in just a while, I know you'll love him he has such a beautiful style And an enchanting smile (while the speakers play...) Music for hairdressers Music for hairdress-sus To do your hair! Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Come on baby do your hair. Music for hairdressers Music for hairdress-sus Just a streak or two Some red and blue, the mirror shines. Gel and blow it dry A final brush it looks divine. Well that's the price you pay for the chance To be invited up onto the dance floor to dance And find romance (while the speakers play...) Music for hairdressers Music for hairdress-sus To do your hair! Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Come on baby do your hair. [solo break] Music for hairdressers Music for hairdress-sus (while the speakers play...) Music for hairdressers Music for hairdress-sus To do your hair! Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Come on baby do your hair. Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Come on baby do your hair. Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Do ya, do your hair, Come on baby do your hair... (repeat and fade)
