Backstory
I grew up in the 60s in the 70s and my siblings were always playing the latest pop tracks. It's no wonder pop music was in my blood from an early age. I watched all the bands on Top of the Pops and Countdown always dreaming of my 15 minutes of fame. That drove me to set up my studio in 1980 and write all these songs to get a contract. In the middle of that I had a clear vision of the "industry" so it was inevitable that I would write such a tongue-in-cheek critique of the whole merry-go-round.
